Bible Apostolate
Growing in the Word of God among the Syro-Malabar Faithful in Europe
The Bible Apostolate encourages the Syro-Malabar faithful in Europe to grow in faith through love for Sacred Scripture and a deeper encounter with Christ, the Living Word.
Within the Apostolic Visitation, the Bible Apostolate is taking shape gradually, responding to the pastoral realities of migrant communities scattered across Europe.

Vision
To nurture Syro-Malabar Christian communities in Europe that listen to the Word of God, reflect on it prayerfully, and live it in daily life.
Mission
- Foster love for Sacred Scripture
- Encourage Scripture-based prayer and reflection
- Support faith life within families and communities
- Strengthen catechesis and evangelization through the Word of God
- Allow Bible-centered initiatives to grow organically according to pastoral possibilities
Present Focus Areas
A. Scripture in Personal and Family Life
- Encouraging regular reading of the Bible
- Promoting reflection on Sunday readings
- Integrating the Word of God into family prayer
B. Bible Sharing and Study
Bible-sharing initiatives are in a budding stage, taking form gradually within parishes and mass centres wherever pastoral conditions permit. These initiatives emphasize simple reflection on Scripture rather than formal study.
C. Formation Initiatives
Formation programs related to Sacred Scripture are in their budding phase, with initial steps taken through occasional talks, guidance sessions, and pastoral encouragement, laying foundations for future structured programs.
D. Bible Quiz and Scripture-Based Activities
Bible Quiz programs and Scripture-based activities are also in a budding stage, emerging slowly through local initiatives and seasonal activities, especially for children and youth.
European Context
Due to geographical distances, cultural diversity, and limited gathering opportunities, Bible Apostolate initiatives develop progressively, adapting to the concrete realities of Syro-Malabar communities in Europe. Both offline and online formats are encouraged where suitable.
Collaboration with Other Ministries
The Bible Apostolate functions in close communion with Catechism, Evangelization, Family Apostolate, Liturgy, and Youth & Children’s Ministries—ensuring that the Word of God remains the foundation of all pastoral life.
Leadership and Coordination
The Bible Apostolate is carried out under the guidance of the Apostolic Visitator, with the involvement of priests, religious, and committed lay faithful, according to local pastoral situations.
Call to the Faithful
All Syro-Malabar faithful in Europe are encouraged to make Sacred Scripture part of daily life, grow in faith through listening to the Word of God, and support the gradual growth of a Scripture-centered faith life.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
